Luke 18:1 (AMPC)
18 Also
[Jesus] told them a parable to the effect that they ought always to pray and
not to turn coward (faint, lose heart, and give up).
Never give up on prayer.
1 Thessalonians 5:17 (AMPC)
17 Be
unceasing in prayer [praying perseveringly];
Prayer can be just 30 seconds and be effective.
Sometimes we need to pray for long periods of
time.
We should pray and expect God's answer.
Prayer creates an environment where we can hear the
Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit shows us things to come.
Like things we need to do.
Ephesians 6 (NLT)
18 Pray
in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent
in your prayers for all believers everywhere.
19 And
pray for me, too. Ask God to give me the right words so I can boldly explain
God’s mysterious plan that the Good News is for Jews and Gentiles alike.
Prayer is talking with God.
Prayer includes praise, worship, and thanksgiving.
Supplication is making a request of God in prayer.
Prayer is not only asking.
Jesus talked about vain praying.
Vain means useless.
Matthew 6:7 (NKJV)
7 And
when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the
heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their
many words.
We must believe God hears and acts upon our requests
in prayer.
John 15:7 (NLT)
7 But if you
remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and
it will be granted!
Remaining in Jesus is staying in contact with Him in
prayer throughout the day.
How you ask is influenced by having a relationship
with Jesus desiring to please Him.
