God's Miracle Medicine

God has given our bodies the remarkable ability to heal.

Exodus 15:26 (NKJV)

... I am the Lord who heals you.”

Here are some of our benefits if we believe in Jesus.

Psalm 103:2B-5 (NKJV)

And forget not all His benefits:

Who forgives all your iniquities,

Who heals all your diseases,

Who redeems your life from destruction,

Who crowns you with loving kindness and tender mercies,

Who satisfies your mouth with good things,

So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

Have you claimed your benefits?

Psalm 107:20  (NKJV)

He sent His word and healed them...

Words are more than communication.

When God speaks, He is not just communicating.

He is creating.

Hebrews 11:3 (NKJV)

By faith we understand that...

the worlds were framed by the word of God,

so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.

Everything that we see is made out of something that we cannot see.

God's words can become solid matter.

That's how the universe was created.

If God created us with His Words, His Words can also be used to recreate us.

Hebrews 4:12  (NKJV)

12 For the word of God is living and powerful...

There is no Word of God without power.

If we mix our faith with God's words, they will release a creative force within us.

Hebrews 4:2  (NKJV)

...the word which they heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard it.

God's life giving words have no impact unless they are mixed with faith.

The power is in God's words to change lives.

Old things pass away.

All things can become new (2 Corinthians 5:17).

If you have been saved, you have been recreated.

How did it happen?

You mixed God's words with your faith.

Unless God's words are mixed with faith.

Nothing happens.

1 Thessalonians 2:13  (NKJV)

... when you received the word of God which you heard from us,

you welcomed it not as the word of men

but as it is in truth, the word of God,

which also effectively works in you who believe.

How you esteem God's words are how they change you?

If you don't mix your faith with God's words, it does nothing.

If you're mixing faith with them, you can see it on your face and hear it in your voice.

If you're not excited about them, you're not believing.

If you yield to the flesh, you will be lazy and unfulfilled.

It will be your fault.

You've got to stir yourself up.

Read God's words with expectation, and it will work.

Here are the directions for using  God's words as medicine.

Proverbs 4:20-24  (NKJV)

20 My son, give attention to my words;

Incline your ear to my sayings.

21 Do not let them depart from your eyes;

Keep them in the midst of your heart;

22 For they are life to those who find them,

And health to all their flesh.

23 Keep your heart with all diligence,

For out of it spring the issues of life.

24 Put away from you a deceitful mouth,
And put perverse lips far from you.

If you don't do this, your mind will automatically be on your problem.

If your problem gets into your heart, it will be filled with fear and anxiety.

It's what you let yourself look at and listen too that gets into you.

Focus on what God is saying to you.  The enemy is the master of distraction.

If we want to be full of faith, we have to look at what the Lord says.

If you say what contradicts God's words, they are lies.

We have to be very protective of what gets into our heart.

It will produce faith or fear.

Life or death.

Here it is again in another translation.

Proverbs 4:20-24 (AMP)

20
My son, pay attention to my words and be willing to learn;

Open your ears to my sayings.

21
Do not let them escape from your sight;

Keep them in the center of your heart.

22
For they are life to those who find them,

And healing and health to all their flesh.

23
Watch over your heart with all diligence,

For from it flow the springs of life.

24
Put away from you a deceitful (lying, misleading) mouth,

And put devious lips far from you.

It's not God's words that are hard to understand.

It's all the distractions.

If you're digesting God's words by faith, their having a creative effect upon you.

If you're focused on the wrong thing, something else will have an effect upon you.

1 Corinthians 3:9  (NKJV)

...you are God’s field...

1 Peter 1:23 (NKJV)

23 having been born again,

not of corruptible seed

but incorruptible,

through the word of God which lives and abides forever,

Words are like seed, and the human heart is like the ground.

For a seed to come to life, it has to be planted into the ground.

If you're not putting God's words into you, you are growing something else.

We can grow bad seed as easy as we can grow good seed.

If you cut off their supply, they will die.

When circumstances surround you,
keep God's words in the midst of you.

Matthew 13:22  (NKJV)

22 Now he who received seed among the thorns is he who hears the word,

and the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and he becomes unfruitful.

Proverbs 4:20-23 (TLB)

20 Listen, son of mine, to what I say. Listen carefully.

21 Keep these thoughts ever in mind; let them penetrate deep within your heart,

22 for they will mean real life for you and radiant health.

23 Above all else, guard your affections. For they influence everything else in your life.

Matthew 4:4 (NKJV)

... ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’

If you want a miracle, you've got to change the channel from your problems to God's promises.

Psalm 107:20  (NKJV)

20 He sent His word and healed them,
And delivered them from their destructions.

Romans 10:9 (NKJV)

that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

Dan Dehaan's Metro Bible Study

In the late 1970s, I attended an interdenominational Bible Study called “the Metro Bible Study” in Metro Atlanta, which began as a Small Group in “Dad” Charles Ellis’ basement. It was taught by Dan Dehaan, and eventually outgrew Dad Ellis’ basement by moving to the Griffin Middle School.  When I first started attending, it had grown to 300 teenagers who meet ever Tuesday night and featured Contemporary Christian Music played by “The Pat Terry Group”.  As the Metro Bible Study continued rapid growth, they eventually moved to the First Baptist Church of Smyrna, Georgia where it peaked around 1200 attendees.  In the summer of 1982, Dan Dehaan died in a plane crash and teacher John Riley took over. Under John Riley, the Bible Study grew to about 1,500 after eventually moving to Mt. Paran Church of God. When I was first invited to the “Metro Bible Study”, I didn’t go to hear Dan Dehaan teach because I didn’t know who he was.  What I went to hear...

Where is God when times get tough?

Mark 4:35-41 (NLT) 35  As evening came, Jesus said to his disciples, “Let’s cross to the other side of the lake.”  Faith is based upon something.  Jesus said that they were all going across the lake.  The disciples should have based their faith upon what Jesus had said.   36  So they took Jesus in the boat and started out, leaving the crowds behind (although other boats followed).  37  But soon a fierce storm came up. High waves were breaking into the boat, and it began to fill with water. You can be in the center of the will of God, and the journey can get tough.  38  Jesus was sleeping at the back of the boat with his head on a cushion.  Faith doesn't fret.  Jesus was in the same ship as they were, but he was relaxed and asleep.   The disciples woke him up, shouting, “Teacher, don’t you care that we’re going to drown?” Our mi...

The Worry Pill

Matthew 6:19-34 (NKJV) 19  “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal;  20  but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.  21  For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. 22  “The lamp of the body (the window that lets in the light) is the eye. If therefore your eye is good (opened), your whole body will be full of light.  23  But if your eye is bad (closed) , your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great  is  that darkness! (Our eyes allow light to give us direction).   24  “No one can serve two masters (an inability to focus in one direction); for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise t...
