Psalm 3:6 (ESV)
6 I will not be afraid of many thousands of people
who have set themselves against me all around.
who have set themselves against me all around.
*We can't look at, think, or
talk about things that cause fear as an act of our will.
Psalm 23:4 A (ESV)
for you (Lord) are with
me;
Psalm 27:3 (ESV)
3 Though an army encamp against me,
my heart shall not fear;
though war arise against me,
yet I will be confident.
my heart shall not fear;
though war arise against me,
yet I will be confident.
Psalm 56:3-4 (ESV)
3 When I am afraid,
I put my trust in you.
4 In God, whose word I praise,
in God I trust; I shall not be afraid.
What can flesh do to me?
I put my trust in you.
4 In God, whose word I praise,
in God I trust; I shall not be afraid.
What can flesh do to me?
Psalm 118:6 (ESV)
6 The Lord is
on my side; I will not fear.
What can man do to me?
What can man do to me?
*If anything looks too big or
too hard (your mountain), you're looking at the problem and not on your God.
You don't have to fear because you don't have to focus upon your problem, but
focus on your God. If you yield to the problem, you're acting like an unsaved
person. You won't receive.
Mark 11:22-23 (ESV)
22 And Jesus answered them, “Have faith
in God. 23 Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this
mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt
in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be
done for him.
*You can care about people,
but if you stay in faith, you can take care of people.
1 John 4:17 (ESV)
17 By this is love perfected with us, so
that we may have confidence for the day of judgment, because as he is
so also are we in this world.
18 There is no fear in love, but perfect
love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever
fears has not been perfected in love.
*If we are walking in fear,
we are not walking in faith or love. God's promises don't come by
wishing, whining, or crying. They come by keeping your eyes on Jesus and
off your problems.
Hebrews 12:2 (ESV)
2 looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of
our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross,
despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of
God.
*You've cross the line when
you fear and worry. It's not faith or love. In the love of God, there
is no fear.
1 Peter 5:7 (ESV)
7 casting all your anxieties on him,
because he (God) cares for you.
2 Corinthians 4:8-9 (ESV)
8 We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed;
perplexed, but not driven to despair;
9 persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but
not destroyed;
2 Corinthians 11:28 (ESV)
28 And, apart from other things, there is the daily pressure
on me (Paul) of my anxiety for all the churches.
*Paul had the pressure to
give into fear, but he did not. Pressure came upon him, but he didn't let it in
him.
Philippians 4:6 (ESV)
6 do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and
supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all
understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable,
whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is
commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of
praise, think about these things.
9 What you have learned and received and heard and
seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with
you.
11 Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I
have learned in whatever situation I am to
be content.
12 I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In
any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty
and hunger, abundance and need.
13 I can do all things through him who strengthens me.
*Paul had to learn how to
resist fear and shift his focus on the things of God. If he learned to do
it, so can you.
